Connection with the learning process is an opportunity to know yourself and the world

About Me

My task is to observe what is important now.

Working in public and private schools and in personal meetings, I discovered that the learning process is much more than methodology, tasks, and books. We can successfully teach and learn only when we have inner resources, or in other words, energy. These are invisible but tangible treasures that, once found, recognized, and held in neutrality, open up new possibilities.

Slowing down, or mindful presence, allows us to notice what is important now. I call this quality of being slow pedagogy.

Slow Pedagogy

Creator and nurturer of Slow Pedagogy, Toma Pakėnienė

Slow pedagogy invites us to stop and listen to what is alive in this moment. In the learning space, attention is given to the student’s entire experience: what they feel in their body, what they live through emotionally, what they perceive through inner intuition, and how they think. Growth happens more harmoniously when all of these areas can be seen.
